Nicole C. Mullen

Nicole loves gadgets, and it’s her daily routine to spend an hour each morning listening to the Word on tape. More and more she is aware that He is God and we are not. He is to be honored, reverenced, and respected. He is concerned with our mundane, everyday life; it’s not always about the bigger picture. Nicole asks the Lord to help her transfer her knowledge of Him through teaching moments as she weekly mentors young girls in her Baby Girl Club, her own children and others through her songwriting. She says that as we have glimpses of how awesome God is, we must not reduce Him to who we are. Christ is so far beyond us that we can’t begin to comprehend Him. Nicole accepted the Lord at age 8 and has walked with Him her whole live, but she has a fresh awareness of the magnificence of God. Everyday we are called to walk by faith in Him, 24/7, all week long and not just on Sunday morning.

Nicole drew on Song of Solomon 8:6 and 7, “Love is strong as death…Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it.” She wrote it from the perspective of both the slaughtered Nate Saint and his widow, Marge Saint, as well as the love of Nate Saint for his son, Steve Saint, who now ministers with one of his father’s murderers. Nicole’s lyrics include:

I miss you and the funny things you say
I remember everyday in a hundred different ways
No valley is too wide
I love you across the great divide.
And if you soar to the sky above or conquer the earth below…
There’s one thing I want you to know…
Let the mighty rivers flood my soul…
And I will always love you.

She reminds us that for Christians to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Love remains and love will survive. We must cherish and treasure our memories of our loved ones and carry on the legacy they have left to us.

          Open   Heavens   in   2007

The church is important to God. The church He established must be found blameless. However, beyond doubt there are times God’s people sin because of ignorance. And even those who have been in the faith for a long time make the same mistakes over and over because of certain weaknesses. It is necessary for God’s people while living on earth to make every effort to maintain a broken spirit and contrite heart.  The church has to go back to the basics of life. There is a need for God’s people to seek Him wholeheartedly. Jesus said that people should seek His Kingdom and righteousness and all needs shall be added to them. Jesus preached about the kingdom. He encouraged the people to value the Kingdom of God. He spoke about a kingdom that has come and the kingdom that is coming. This year is themed, “ Open Heavens in 2007”.  We hope:

·        To teach God’s people on the concepts of the Kingdom

·        To encourage the people to live according to the principles of God

·        To advance the Kingdom of God through the word, worship and missions.

While we profess to be Christians, we are compelled to seek His Kingdom, His presence and His righteousness. Whether our needs be granted to us or not, our vital concern is to: passionately seek God; rediscover God’s purposes for His people; experience the refining process of God; touch the heart of the King; and to serve as extension of God’s love. As we declare that the Kingdom of God is at hand, may our speech, our actions demonstrate how much we value God in our lives.
